"Their band name, Tokio Hotel, was inspired by the city Tokyo. The two brothers are twins. Their music sense is inspired by the Visual-Kei music, but Bill's hairstyle is completely his own. They just recently won an award at the VMA's for "Best New Artist". They are working on becoming an international band, and more than just America."

(I did not take these pictures.)

Some of this stuff is pretty well known, but the Visual-Kei lost me. I did some research and this is what I think they mean:
Visual-Kei is a movement among Japanese musicians that is known for the use of eccentric and flamboyant looks. It was pioneered by the band Malice Mizer (love them!) along with other bands such as D'erlanger and Color, who are known for the influence behind the fashion and music associated with Visual-Kei. This is where Bill's hairstlye comes in because most of the bands in the Visual-Kei have some of the most colorful hairstyles. Musically Visual-Kei has a wide variety of musical geners such as Pop, Heavy Metal, Classical, Rap, and Electronic.
I have no idea if any of this is true regarding Tokio Hotel, but that's what the mini article said.
