Hair: 
They may look like they need to go to the barber, but really, their hair is part of the emo vibe. Emo hairstyle favors fringes, highlights, plus a little swept-to-the-side look. More extreme 'dos borrow from the punk lifestyle. 

What it might mean: 
The long bangs, or the dyed highlights, and the very spiky hair say that they're confused about growing up and the things that they're feeling are very, very unique.
