Bill: "On the boarder to manic"
Read an honest and revealing interview with Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel
In a new interview with the French magazine Dream Up an honest talk about TH's new album, fans and Perez Hilton ugly accusations.
The magazine was talking with vocalist Bill Kaulitz, and here you have an excerpt:
You have not been as much out of the past?
- No, we have been in the studio to record our third album. It has been a very intense and creative period, but also gave it a necessary pause for the band. We had an opportunity to come together, far away from our normal, hectic lives. In the studio, could each of us be alone with his thoughts and doubts. The time we are away from the limelight is important for a band. We have come back to the things that really matter, "says Bill.
What can we expect us?
- There are many new influences that, until now, have not been heard on "the sound of Tokio Hotel". But we have retained the same crew. Our new album will NOK surprise many people and I hope the fans will love it!, "Says Bill.
How are you working [with the new album, editor.]?
- The lyrics and the music is taken from our lives for success. They act on the feelings, thoughts and reflections we have made, but also includes new wishes and aspirations. I began to write in any of the songs in the summer of 2007. Many of the texts was done while we were on tour and just went around. There is a song that specifically deals with homesickness I felt when we were on tour in the United States, about all the things I missed. That is why the album will be in German, although it also will get an English version, reveals Bill.
How do you a song?
- In the beginning there is only resolve thoughts and ideas spread. Then the music becomes more defined, sometimes even without realizing it. The moment refrenget is done, the song really begins to take shape. At that time needs to be done shooting. A song is too fragile to let it slip away.
Do you have a lot of discussions (in the band) before you start recording?
- Yes, the moment we are ready to start recording, things begin to be difficult. We have a song, but there are many different ways to interpret the song. And we must find the best interpretation. Then, we begin to experiment with each song through to change the guitar sound or my voice. And yes, it leads to great discussions. And what concerns me most is that I'm a perfectionist, on the border to manic. Fortunately, not the three other friends of mine the same property, "explains Bill and laughs.
Feeling the pressure of the fans?
- (...) The greatest pressure comes from ourselves. Of course fansens feedback is very important also, because we do not want to disappoint them. But we will not disappoint us either. We listen to others' advice, but the final decision is always made by us.
For not long ago wrote celebrity bloggeren Perez Hilton that their concerts were only a "playback". What is your comment on that?
- It is not the first time I hear such nonsense about Tokio Hotel, or any other band. We are hot now, and our success creates envy. And such medieoppsinn is only part of the game. It is a betrayal full attack because the famous Perez Hilton does not have any evidence that can support his accusations. As our manager David Jost said: "The best way to form an opinion is to get on our concerts and see us play." And we rocker!, End Bill.
The new album of Tokio Hotel are coming to the spring.
