Looking back on the last couple of weeks I realize I have to give praise to an unsung hero in the production of Tokio Hotel TV. One of the biggest challenges was to balance the amount of filming we did vs. editing for the upcoming episodes. Anyone with a basic understanding of video production knows the amount of time it takes to edit and color correct HD video files. Then imagine having to do that on a moving bus, or in a make up room or backstage or in a van.
I knew that Part 1 of The Feel It All tour would have such high pace that I had to work wherever and whenever our schedule allowed me to. With that in mind I had to aquire a computer that was extremely fast, reliable and completely mobile. This beautiful piece of machinery from Multicom.no allowed me to exactly that. They expertedly helped me figure out what I wanted and soon enough I had a fully mobile computer more than twice as powerful as a top spec'ed Macbook Pro.
Having equipment you can rely on is undoubtedly one of the biggest advantages in my profession and having a computer that is fast enough to keep up with the pace of such an intense schedule, nor crash while editing, made my life substantially easier in terms of having a continous production of THTV while on the road.
Why more people don't use mobile editing stations as fast and powerful like this one is still a mystery to me, but this computer and I have been through some serious challenges together the past months and looking forward I am thrilled knowing I bring this machine with me and it will handle anything I throw at it.

Mirando hacia atrás en el último par de semanas me doy cuenta de que tengo que alabar a un héroe anónimo en la producción de Tokio Hotel TV. Uno de los mayores retos fue equilibrar la cantidad de rodaje que hicimos frente a la edición de los próximos episodios. Cualquier persona con un conocimiento básico de la producción de video sabe la cantidad de tiempo que se necesita para editar y equilibrar vídeos de alta definición correcta del color. Luego imagina tener que hacer eso en un autobús en movimiento, o en una sala de maquillaje o entre bastidores o en una furgoneta.
Yo sabía que la Parte 1 de Feel It All tour tendría tan alto ritmo que tuve que trabajar donde y cuando nuestro calendario me permitió. Con eso en mente, tenía que adquirir un equipo que fuera muy rápido, fiable y completamente móvil. Esta hermosa pieza de la maquinaria de Multicom.no me permitió exactamente eso. Ellos expertos me ayudaron a averiguar lo que quería y lo suficientemente pronto tuve un ordenador totalmente móvil más de dos veces más potente como un todo veloz Macbook Pro.
Tener un equipo en el que puedes confiar, es sin duda una de las mayores ventajas en mi profesión y tener un equipo que es lo suficientemente rápido para mantenerse al día con el ritmo de una agenda tan intensa, sin ningún accidente durante la edición, hizo mi vida sustancialmente más fácil en términos de tener una producción continua de THTV mientras estaba en la carretera.
¿Por qué más personas no utilizan estaciones de edición móviles, rápidas y potentes como éste, sigue siendo un misterio para mí, pero este equipo y he pasado por serios desafíos junto a él en los últimos meses y estoy emocionado sabiendo que llevo esta máquina conmigo y que se encargará de todo lo que necesite.
